Check Cashing Shop Set On Fire During Robbery Attempt
DETROIT (AP) — Police are seeking a man who poured a flammable liquid into a money tray beneath a clear, plastic barrier window and started a fire during a robbery attempt at a Detroit check cashing business.

Police say the man walked into the office about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and told a clerk to give him cash. He ignited the liquid and walked out after the clerk picked up a phone to summon help.

No injuries were reported.

The first-floor business and apartments on the second floor were damaged by fire. CALABRESE INC. was contacted to secure the building.
